Enjoy! It’s spoopy out here…įatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water has been out for about a year now in Japan and since then fans have been begging Nintendo for a western release. Part two, which should be up within the next couple days, will cover my play through of the trial download. It was originally going to be one post but it was going on too long so I split it up! The first part will be about the supposed ‘controversy’ surrounding the title’s western release, in spite of it being on top of everyone’s wish lists. This will be the first part on a little two-part series I want to do on this game. So it was with great excitement that I downloaded the trial version and blasted through the first three segments of the game. Sure, Mario and company are fine, but outside of Nintendo’s major characters, it’s hard to find anything of note. To me, it represented not only the first new major horror title on the Wii U since its launch (the formerly-exclusive ZombiU by Ubisoft being the first), but also a taste of something different on Nintendo’s console. I myself have been looking forward to this release since I first heard about it at this past E3. It’s Halloween week and I’m sure we’re all getting amped up for a weekend of scares, treats, parties, haunted houses, pumpkin carving, horror movie marathons and ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!’ Yes, I love this time of year and, just in time for the holiday (can the banks please just start recognizing this? Nobody wants to work Halloween, jus’ sayin’), Nintendo has released the much-anticipated Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
